We have been awarded the contract by Kooiman Marine Groep in Zwijndrecht for the engineering, delivery and commissioning of the hydraulic systems on board an 86x9.5 mtr inland vessel. The scope includes the hydraulic steering machine and the hydraulic systems for the spud poles, overflow and bottom valves.

The vessel will be cleaner than the currently applicable emission requirements for inland shipping. With two Euro 6 engines, the ship more than meets the Stage V requirements, but it will also become the cleanest ship in the shipping industry and lead the way with low fuel consumption. The vessel's dimensions are 86 x 9.5 x 4.0 m, with a cargo capacity of 2000 tons at a draft of 3.6 m.

The ship will have hybrid propulsion. In normal shipping, one motor is connected to the propeller shaft with a reduction gearbox. For the time being, the most efficiency can be achieved with this traditional method of propulsion. When extra power is temporarily needed, a large generator with a Euro 6 diesel engine can supply electrical power to a PM electric motor, which is mounted around the propeller shaft. This PM electric motor can also function as a shaft generator that generates power for the other consumers on board at normal speed.
